SM-GRS a consultant agency, was set up in March 2008 who is authorised to provide the services in the field of Geographic Information System (GIS) & Remote Sensing. The company has registered under GST REG-06 Registration Certificate No. 07ARJPM9712HIZI. The objective of Company was to undertake specific studies on different issues related to environment and surveys in the Hydropower, Road and Rail sectors.

Remote Sensing & GIS

In general, remote sensing & GIS are used for GIS Mapping, Generation of DEM and Spatial Terrain modelling services. These multiple parameters in turn are used for Carrying Capacity Studies, EIA/EMP Studies, Road/ Rail/ Bridge Surveys, Geological mapping, Detailed Project Reports and Terrestrial Ecology surveys.

Delineation of watersheds and calculation of various geo-morphological parameters such as Stream order, Stream number, Stream length, Average length of streams, Bifurcation ratio, Length ratio, Drainage area, Texture ratio, Drainage density, Stream frequency, Basin relief, Ruggedness number, Basin circularity, Hypsometric integral, Basin asymmetry analysis are used for mapping.
